Mississippi Motion About the physician
Mississippi's Trusted Specialist in Sports Medicine & Ultrasound-Guided Procedures
MD, CAQSM, RMSK
Born and raised in South Mississippi, Dr. Penton brings cutting-edge sports medicine home. With a Sports Medicine fellowship from Texas Christian University (TCU) and advanced certifications in TenJet and Tenex, he's helping Mississippians recover from chronic and acute injuries without surgery or long delays.
Why Mississippi Motion
After training alongside some of the best sports medicine minds in the country at TCU and John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Dr. Penton made a deliberate choice: come home to Mississippi. Too many patients here were driving hours for care that should be available locally, or worse, going without treatment altogether.
His philosophy is simple: every patient deserves a same-week answer. No waiting months for an MRI referral. No bouncing between specialists. Walk in with pain, walk out with a diagnosis and a plan, often on the same visit.
Signature specialty
Patellar tendon pain, Jumper's Knee, is one of the most common and stubborn injuries for athletes and active adults. It's also one of Dr. Penton's signature specialties. Using ultrasound-guided TenJet and Tenex procedures, Dr. Penton can treat chronic tendon pain precisely and efficiently, often helping patients who have been in pain for months or years.
"I can diagnose and treat with TenJet or Tenex in a week or two, it takes others months just to get a proper diagnosis."
